In this role, you'll contribute to building efficient and robust systems that support order processing, logistics, and real-time tracking. Your contributions will help optimize the end-to-end delivery experience, making it more reliable and seamless for both drivers and customers.\n\n**What You Will Do**\n\n1. Technical Ownership: Lead the development of complex features and systems within the 3PDG domain, ensuring they meet high standards of performance and reliability.\n2. Systems Design: Create detailed technical designs for multi-tenant integration frameworks, with a focus on reducing friction for external partners.\n3. Mentorship & Quality: Drive the technical bar for the team through rigorous code reviews, design docs, and by mentoring L3 and L4 engineers.\n4. Operational Excellence: Take a lead role in on-call rotations and system health, implementing advanced observability and automated testing for partner-facing flows.\n5. Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with Product Managers, co-creating the solutions and managing them since the creation, breaking down epic-level requirements into actionable technical tasks and milestones, until delivery.\n\n\\-\\-\\-\\- Basic Qualifications ----\n\n1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field, with 5+ years of full-time engineering experience.\n2. Experience in hands-on software development with thoughtfulness of scale, latency, and distributed architecture.\n3. Highly efficient coding in Golang, Java, or any similar language.\n4. Proven track record of delivering high-quality software and contributing to impactful projects.\n5. Ability to execute on a product roadmap and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.\n6. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.\n7. English proficiency\n8. Algorithm & Data Structures fundamentals, including hash tables, trees, stacks, queues, linked lists, DFS, and BFS.\n\n\\-\\-\\-\\- Preferred Qualifications ----\n\n1. Proven Seniority: 7+ years of professional experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on distributed systems.\n2. Integration Expert: Deep experience building and maintaining public or partner-facing APIs (REST/gRPC) and Webview-based integrations.\n3. Backend Mastery: Strong proficiency in Go or Java and cloud-native environments (AWS/GCP).\n4. Problem Solver: Ability to debug highly complex solutions.\n5. Communication: Ability to lead technical discussions and influence the team's technical direction.\n\n### Nice to have\n\n1. Experience with frontend performance optimization.\n2. Prior experience in high-growth delivery or marketplace platforms.\n\nFor New York, NY-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$202,000 per year - USD$224,000 per year.\n\nYou will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp.
