In this role, you will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding policy development, governance, and strategy, and advising teams within the business on a broad array of AI issues. \n\nYou must have experience advising on current legal and regulatory framework and risks related to AI, including with respect to privacy, security, licensing, product development, and intellectual property. This is a great opportunity to join a growing legal team, learn about interesting new technologies and business models, and work on novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment.\n\n \n\nYou will\n\n​Help guide Roblox’s AI strategy & initiatives.\n\nSupport implementation and management of AI governance policies and frameworks to ensure responsible AI deployment, ethical data usage, and regulatory compliance.\n\nInterpret and monitor global AI regulations, advising on risks, trends, and strategic compliance initiatives, in connection with Roblox’s regulatory and compliance teams.\n\nSupply specialized AI guidance to the Product Counsel team during product development.\n\nLiaise with stakeholders across operational, product, and business teams on AI legal issues, risks, and mitigations.\n\nFacilitate management of comprehensive, AI use-case evaluation processes.\n\nAnalyze, draft, and negotiate AI-related contractual provisions.\n\nTackle additional questions on behalf of the Legal team that you are interested in!\n\nYou have\n\n9+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably a combination of law firm and in-house experience at a consumer-facing technology company.\n\nActive membership in at least one U.S. state bar.\n\nA strong working knowledge of AI legal issues, including those related to intellectual property and publicity rights, data and privacy issues, consumer protection, and other relevant laws and regulations.\n\nA history of evaluating and negotiating AI-related licenses and other agreements. \n\nPrevious experience counseling and collaborating with business, product, governance, internal legal and security teams in the tech industry.\n\nA track record of educating internal stakeholders, translating complex concepts, and advising on risk mitigation strategies.\n\nDesire and ability to work well with a growing team and aptitude to seek responsibility and work autonomously.\n\nAbility to manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities and proactively anticipating issues, particularly in a fast-paced corporate setting.\n\nTeam player mentality, sense of humor, low ego, and high level of professionalism,\n\nFor roles that are based at our headquarters in San Mateo, CA: The starting base pay for this position is as shown below. The actual base pay is dependent upon a variety of job-related factors such as professional background, training, work experience, location, business needs and market demand. Therefore, in some circumstances, the actual salary could fall outside of this expected range. This pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
