Our technology, combined with our commitment to saving lives and our passion for aviation, will empower everyone to experience the joy and freedom of flight.\n\nDISPLAY SOFTWARE ENGINEER - EL SEGUNDO\n\nWe are looking for an experienced Display Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of advanced display systems for aviation and aerospace applications. This role involves optimizing graphics performance, ensuring system reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class visual solutions for mission-critical environments.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nDesign, develop, and maintain display software for aviation/aerospace systems, ensuring high performance, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.\n\nImplement and optimize rendering pipelines, graphics effects, and display drivers to maximize performance and efficiency on both CPU and GPU.\n\nDevelop and integrate 3D graphics solutions using OpenGL, Vulkan, and related APIs.\n\nUtilize GPU programming frameworks such as CUDA or OpenCL for performance-critical applications.\n\nWork on concurrent and parallel programming to achieve real-time performance requirements.\n\nDebug and optimize display systems at both application and driver levels, ensuring seamless operation in embedded environments.\n\nCollaborate with hardware teams to bring up new display hardware, troubleshoot issues, and integrate solutions for embedded platforms.\n\nWork on Linux-based development environments and contribute to system-level integration and debugging.\n\nInterface with cross-functional teams including graphics, hardware, and avionics specialists to deliver integrated display solutions.\n\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent (Master’s degree preferred).\n\n3+ years of professional experience in display software development or related fields.\n\nStrong programming skills with proficiency in Python and C++ or Rust.\n\nExperience in concurrent programming and multithreaded systems.\n\nDeep understanding of 3D graphics principles and experience with OpenGL and Vulkan.\n\nProven experience with GPU programming using CUDA or OpenCL.\n\nDevelopment experience with Linux Operating System.\n\nPractical experience with embedded hardware and debugging serial interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I²C).\n\nIndustry experience developing display software for aviation or aerospace applications.\n\nPREFERRED SKILLS:\n\nExperience with real-time systems and low-latency display rendering.\n\nFamiliarity with color management, HDR, and image processing.\n\nKnowledge of display protocols such as MIPI DSI, DisplayPort, or HDMI.\n\nExposure to safety-critical software development standards (e.g., DO-178C, ARINC-661).\n\nExperience with Anysys SCADE, GL Studio or equivalent\n\nWHY SKYRYSE?\n\nThe opportunity to change the world through improving aviation safety and accessibility \n\nSalary: 150K - 170K\n\nValuable stock option plan\n\nHeavily subsidized medical, dental and vision plans\n\nFull-time employees are eligible for 20 days of paid time off (PTO) and 5 sick days annually.
