But our commitment goes beyond our clients as we continue to live the Withum Way, promoting personal and professional growth for all team members, clients, and surrounding communities.\n\nHow You’ll Spend Your Time:\n\nReviewing individual, fiduciary, gift and business tax returns prepared by staff and/or seniors for accuracy\n\nResearching and drafting tax memorandums involving complex tax matters\n\nIdentifying and implementing tax planning opportunities\n\nHandling and resolving tax controversies\n\nHaving conversations with clients to provide insight and individually tailored solutions\n\nManaging multiple engagements concurrently with various teams to efficiently meet client deadlines\n\nConducting constructive discussions with team members on their evaluations and providing counsel accordingly\n\nServing in professional development programs as an instructor or discussion leader\n\nThe Kinds of People We Want to Talk to Have Many of The Following:\n\nBachelor's degree in accounting\n\nActive CPA or a Master of Science in Taxation\n\nExpertise in California taxation\n\n7+ years prior experience working in the tax department of a public accounting firm\n\nAt least 2 years of detailed tax review which includes experience with 1040s; specifically, in the areas of:\n\nEmployee stock option reporting and planning\n\nMulti-State taxation\n\nSchedule C and Single Member LLC\n\nComplex K-1s and brokerage statements\n\nExperience working with SurePrep SPBinder, BNA Income Tax Planner, GoSystems and TaxCaddy\n\nExceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships\n\nAbility to manage multiple engagements, complete projects, spot tax issues and tax planning opportunities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment\n\nStrong leadership, training, and mentoring skills, coupled with strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to represent the Firm well to client’s management\n\nExcellent analytical, organizational, project management skills, and strong attention to detail\n\nThe compensation for this position will vary by location. In addition to the base compensation, Withum offers a competitive benefits package and bonus program (for eligible roles) based on individual and firm performance. Final offer amounts are based on multiple factors such as the specific role, hiring location, as well as the individual’s skills, experience and qualifications.
