If this sparks your interest, you’re in the right place.\n\nWe have an opening for a Senior Structural Engineer. This role can be based in the following cities:  \n\n \n\nLocation: Los Angeles, CA, Riverside, CA, Sacramento, CA, San Diego, CA  \n\nPosition Summary: \n\nAs a Senior Structural Engineer focused on elevating our work within the Healthcare sector, you will have the opportunity to work on projects that push the envelope of resilient design while collaborating with the sector team to achieve our business plan goals.  You will lead a team of junior staff to produce high-quality construction documents using Revit and manage project schedules to meet deliverable requirements. As part of the integrated design team, you will collaborate closely with other disciplines to produce highly integrated building designs. This role will work directly with the regional discipline leader to assist in developing work plans, project schedules, budgets, and proposals for both internal teams and external clients. You will collaborate with the Healthcare sector leadership team to develop and execute strategies for business development, growing our integrated practice. \n\n \n\nThe successful candidate will: \n\nPartner with the Healthcare Regional Sector Leader and Regional Structural Engineering Leader to set strategic directions for growth and actively participate in business plan strategies and initiatives for the California Healthcare sector.\n\nTrack project milestones and deliverables, ensuring adherence to quality standards\n\nFacilitate and document meetings with staff and clients, coordinating project personnel, vendors, and consultants\n\nActively engage in business development initiatives by contributing to RFP responses, participating in client interviews and fostering client relationships\n\nLead the design on projects of significance\n\nCollaborate early and often with architects, other engineers, and clients as part of our integrated design process and culture, resulting in growth of revenue and scale of practice\n\nCarry out technical review of interdisciplinary teams prior to issuance\n\nRepresent DLR Group at meetings with owners, clients, and suppliers\n\nProduce construction documents using Revit.\n\nAssist contractors by reviewing shop drawings, RFIs and participating in O/A/C meetings.\n\nPass along knowledge by mentoring entry-level staff.\n\nContribute to managing the operations, execution, and expectations for the Structural Engineering Discipline in California.\n\n \n\nRequired Qualifications: \n\nBachelor's degree in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.\n\nLicensed Structural Engineer (SE) required in the state of California.\n\n7+ years of experience working as an engineer, including engineering design according to HCAI/OSHPD standards within the Healthcare sector in California\n\nWorking knowledge of the design and construction process and the ability to understand and communicate with professionals of other disciplines\n\nStrong critical thinking, time management, and communication skills, both verbal and written\n\nUnderstanding of business management and customer service principles, thought leadership and relationship building\n\nDemonstrated record of consistent quality work\n\nWorking knowledge of current structural software (ETABS, SAP, SAFE, RAM, ADAPT, RISA, Enercalc).\n\nExperience with BIM including Autodesk Revit workflow.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nPassion for sustainable building design and SE2050 commitment.\n\nExperience with directing and coordinating project activities of junior staff.\n\n \nOur comprehensive Benefits at DLR Group include medical, dental, vision, disability, wellness programs, flex spending, paid holidays, and paid time off.
